At Bethesda, we are fortunate to have more than 400 volunteers participating in activities, providing comfort and companionship to our residents and their families, delivering the mail, transporting residents to meals, and more.<\/p>\n<h3>Why Volunteer?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Help improve the quality of life of our residents<\/li>\n<li>Share your talents and your friendship<\/li>\n<li>Meet some wonderful people &#8211; the residents, our staff, and especially your fellow volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Fulfill a service project requirement<\/li>\n<li>Give back to your community<\/li>\n<li>Provides individual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bethesdahealth.org\/benefits-senior-volunteering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">health benefits<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Becoming a Volunteer<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>You must be a minimum age of 18 years (inquire individually regarding opportunities for supervised minors)<\/li>\n<li>Complete application and other necessary forms<\/li>\n<li>Meet with the Volunteer Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Complete Tuberculin Test<\/li>\n<li>Attend training and orientation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Things to Keep in Mind<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Be able to volunteer independently if necessary<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to take on various tasks assigned by Volunteer Coordinator (watering plants, pushing hydration cart, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Be flexible as task assignments could change day to day<\/li>\n<li>Refer to Volunteer Coordinator for any current mask or COVID-19 vaccine requirements<\/li>\n<li>Refer to Volunteer Coordinator for restrictions on supervised minor volunteers (Junior Volunteer Application required)<\/li>\n<li>Volunteers who want to regularly donate their time on a consistent basis are encouraged!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Where to Volunteer or for more Specific Information<\/h3>\n<p>Opportunities to volunteer are available at each of our <a href=\"https:\/\/bethesdahealth.org\/living-options\/skilled-nursing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">skilled nursing communities<\/a> and through Bethesda Hospice Care.
